SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Police are asking for help finding the person responsible for setting someone on fire near the Browne Street viaduct on Wednesday.
According to police, officers were called out to the viaduct just before 3 p.m. on September 17. When officers arrived, they found a male victim with serious injuries.
SPD said a man walked up to the victim, doused him in gasoline and then set him on fire. The man then left the area.
The victim had severe burns to a large part of his body and was taken to a local hospital for emergency treatment.
Police say the man responsible was wearing baggy jeans, no shirt and possibly carrying a tan backpack.
SPD said there is no public safety threat at this time, and this does not appear to be a random attack.
