PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State Cougars confirmed through head coach Jimmy Rogers that there will be a quarterback battle this week for the upcoming Apple Cup against Washington.
Starting QB Jaxson Potter finished with three interceptions in the first half of WSU’s 59-10 loss at North Texas on Saturday, and he was benched for the second half.
Second-string quarterback Julian Duggar and third-stringer Zevi Eckhaus will compete with Potter for the starting role this week, Eckhaus last started for WSU in the 2024 Holiday Bowl last season.
Washington State kicks off against Washington this Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Martin Stadium.
