DENTON, Texas – A Texas-sized egg cracked over the Washington State Cougars today as they fell 59-10 to the North Texas Mean Green in a game that rapidly got out of hand.
WSU quarterback Jaxson Potter threw three first-half interceptions, and he didn’t see any action in the second half. UNT led 45-3 at halftime, their largest halftime lead in school history.
Drew Mestemaker dazzled throughout the day, the UNT quarterback threw for four touchdowns and 211 yards.
The only WSU touchdown came late by Zevi Eckhaus, the now-third-string QB rushed in for the two-yard score, his first and only touchdown of the season.
Washington State next sets their sights on Washington in the annual Apple Cup. Kickoff in Pullman is next Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
