CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Eastern Washington suffered their third loss of the season in their tightest contest yet, falling 17-14 to the Northern Iowa Panthers.
The Eagles trailed by 17 through the first three quarters, but they bounced back in the fourth through two Nate Bell rushing touchdowns, the backup QB throwing for 159 yards.
UNI quarterback Matthew Schecklman threw for a career-high 359 yards, plus a pair of scores, as he led his Panthers to their second home win.
Eastern at last has their first home game of the season next Saturday when they host Western Illinois at 4:00 p.m.
