SPOKANE, Wash. — Children of all ages now have the chance to climb, walk, rest and slide on a new natural play feature in Spokane’s Audubon Park.
The Jess Roskelley Foundation, with the help of a community grant from the Spokane Parks Foundation, created a new Rock Scramble play structure in the park. This structure features a series of boulders that have been created to form a unique natural play feature for children and families.
Spokane Parks Foundation says this structure is the second phase of a new play area honoring Jess’s legacy. Jess was a Spokane native and an international elite alpinist. The Jess Roskelley Foundation is a nonprofit created in his name to promote public projects and provide access to wild places, all while honoring his legacy.
“Thanks to the amazing collaboration between the Jess Roskelley Foundation and the Audubon-Downriver Neighborhood Council, with the support from the Spokane Parks and Recreation and numerous donors, children can explore, play and build new skills for a lifetime of physical fitness,” Spokane Parks Foundation said.
