SPOKANE, Wash. – Nearly 100 members of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club rolled in to Spokane’s Ronald McDonald House on Saturday followed by a trailer packed with supplies for families of children receiving medical care.
“We are active and volunteer and some retired firefighters from all over the community,” said Jenny Woodard, vice president of the Red Knights. Woodard said her club delivered roughly $5,000 worth of goods.
The riders unloaded the packed trailer, passing along everything from essentials like toilet paper to comfort items like snacks.
The Red Knights tell that while they tell people to donate as much money as they want, they often have people giving in the hundreds.
“Just whatever we can do, we do. We save up and splurge,” Woodard said.
Woodward said the joy on the children’s faces after the donation drive, is what makes it feel so special.
“You know, bikers don’t generally have a good public outlook out there. It’s nice to come in and just let people know that we’re here to support the community,” Woodard said.
