KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho — Starting Monday, drivers should expect delays along I-90 between Post Falls and Coeur d’Alene.
This project will widen I-90 between State Highway 41 and Highway 95 to help with traffic congestions, improve safety and accommodate the region’s growing population.
The first part of this project will include removing trees from the center median and the shoulders, placing temporary barriers, installing signs and beginning construction on the Prairie Trail Bridge.
Work will typically take place Monday through Friday, though some weekend work may occur. Two lanes of travel will be open in both directions during the day, but lanes may be reduced at night if needed.
Drivers should play close attention to posted speed limits in the construction zone.
Over the next four years, drivers can expect to see two more lanes on both directions of I-90, new widening bridges, improved sections of the Prairie and Centennial Trails and lengthened on and off-ramps for safer merging.
