LATAH COUNTY, Wash. — The fiancé of a man accused of kidnapping his daughter has been indicted for international kidnapping and conspiracy.
Court documents show Nadia Cole is accused of assisting Aaron Aung in the kidnapping of his 2-year-old daughter.
Aung was supposed to meet with the child’s mother for a custody exchange at the Pullman Police Department but never showed in June.
According to the indictment, Aaron is accused of getting his father’s Cadillac from a storage unit in Athol with the child and meeting Cole in Tacoma. The three then went to Mexico.
Aaron’s father, Jaimes Aung, was also indicted on kidnapping charges.
The indictment accuses Aaron and Jaimes of communicating via encrypted texts so Aaron could avoid law enforcement.
Aaron and Cole were arrested in Mexico in July. Cole was immediately deported back to the U.S. while Aaron and the child were detained for a few days before being deported.
Cole is scheduled to be arraigned September 6.
