MOSES LAKE, Wash. — The Grant County Health District lifted the water quality advisory for the Pelican Horn area of Moses Lake.
The advisory first went into place on July 10 after sewage spilled in the area.
On July 7, a sewage line was found broken near the lake’s shoreline. The city quickly shut off the wastewater line and used its emergency protocols.
The damaged line was repaired within a week.
GCHD says recent lake testing confirmed that E. coli levels have returned to normal for Moses Lake.
E. coli is a type of coliform bacteria found in feces. While this type of bacteria is common in bodies of water, increased exposure can lead to illness.
