SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. — A mudslide cleanup on State Route 20 in the North Cascades will take longer than expedited, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
WSDOT said their crew encountered more mud than initially estimated.
Additional equipment is on location, but cleanup will take several more days.
SR 20 remains closed between Granite Creek and Easy Pass Trailhead (MP 148-157).
The team will reassess the situation on Monday, Aug. 19.
The mudslide occurred Sunday evening following rainfall.
