COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — A Coeur d’Alene man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for trafficking methamphetamine in the Coeur d’Alene area.
According to the Kootenai County Prosecutor’s Office, 58-year-old Jorge Luis Pabon-Delgado was first arrested in March of this year after officers found more than three ounces of meth in his apartment.
Delgado was on probation for a DUI charge when officers learned he was dealing drugs in the Coeur d’Alene area.
Officers watched Delgado leave his apartment. At the request of his probation officer, Delgado was contacted and detained.
The Prosecutor’s Office says when Delgado was being detained, he dropped a small baggie of meth on the ground.
Delgado admitted he was on the way to give the meth to someone else.
During a search of Delgado’s apartment, officers found more meth, a large number of small baggies and a scale that tested positive for meth.
Delgado was sentenced to 15 years in prison with parole eligibility after five years.
Delgado’s criminal history includes convictions for possessing and trafficking controlled substances, domestic battery, transfer of bodily fluid which may contain the HIV virus, DUI and probation and parole violations.
