COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — Idaho Department of Lands is fighting the wildfire that led to two firefighters being shot and killed.
According to IDL, the Nettleton Gulch Fire is burning timber on the Canfield Mountain and approximately 26 acres in size.
Law enforcement believes the fire was started intentionally to lure firefighters into a deadly ambush, but IDL says the cause is still under investigation.
While responding to the fire Sunday afternoon, two firefighters were shot and killed. A third was also shot but reportedly stable in the hospital.
The gunman was identified by ABC News and the AP has Wess Roley.
