SPOKANE, Wash. — Over 500 injuries from Hoopfest have been reported as of Saturday afternoon.
MultiCare says these numbers include 9 fractures, 7 Achilles ruptures, 8 knee injuries, 152 wounds, 77 strains or sprains, 21 lacerations, one dislocation, one concussion, 7 blisters, 235 tapings and 3 cases of dehydration.
These numbers reflect the people who got treated at the MultiCare medical tent on Saturday. It also includes those that went to the medical tent to be referred elsewhere.
Officials with MultiCare say while the numbers are below the pace of last year’s injuries, the severity of the injuries are on the rise.
With temperatures expected to rise on Sunday, make sure to stay well-hydrated, rest up and look for shade whenever possible.
