Applications will soon open for the Idaho Food Bank Fund’s 2025 grant process, which offers financial support to Idaho nonprofits working to combat hunger and promote healthy eating throughout the state.
From July 1 – July 31, Idaho nonprofits can apply for a grant to support program operations and efforts to increase access for underserved and marginalized populations.
The grant can also cover food purchases, nutrition education materials, transportation needs and capacity expansion, including new freezers and shelving.
Most grant awards range between $2,500 to $5,000.
The Idaho State Legislature established the Idaho Food Bank Fund in 2009 to provide financial support to Idaho nonprofits addressing food insecurity. Catholic Charities of Idaho and The Idaho Foodbank jointly administer the program.
The fund operates through voluntary donations from Idaho taxpayers who contribute via a “check off” box on their state tax returns. In 2024, the fund allocated $178,718 in grants to 72 statewide nonprofits that provide nutrition education and hunger relief services across Idaho.
Grant recipients will be announced in early November 2025. Organizations do not need to be affiliated with the administering organizations to qualify for funding.
Eligible applicants include any Idaho-based hunger relief organizations serving state residents. Applications are available online, or organizations can request hard copies by email or phone.
