MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. — A Cheney man has died at the hospital from a suspected DUI crash last week near Medical Lake.
According to Washington State Patrol, 91-year-old Fred McDowell was driving along Salnave Road near I-90 when he was hit by another driver who ran a stop sign.
McDowell’s vehicle was sent into a light pole and rolled. He was taken to Sacred Heart where he later died.
The driver of the other vehicle, 38-year-old Jessican Melancon, was not wearing a seatbelt and also taken to Sacred Heart. Charges against her are pending.
WSP suspects drugs or alcohol were involved.
