SPOKANE, Wash. — Thousands of people will be driving to Spokane this weekend for Hoopfest!
In response, law enforcement across the region will be doing traffic enforcement to make sure everyone gets to Hoopfest and back safely.
The Spokane Police Department says Washington State Patrol will have a Mobile DUI Unit in downtown Spokane to prevent anyone from driving impaired during Hoopfest.
WSP said it will also have troopers working the I-90 corridor during the weekend as well as aircraft patrols to help with speeding and traffic safety violations.
With the volume of people traveling to Spokane that weekend, WSP also says to plan for longer travel time and expect longer delays getting on and out of downtown.
