SPOKANE, Wash. — A man was detained Thursday after Spokane police responded to a reported court order violation at a home in a residential neighborhood.
The Spokane Police Department (SPD) arrived at the scene with armored vehicles after receiving information that the man was refusing to exit the residence. Officers said the man was believed to be in violation of a court order.
According to SPD, negotiators established phone contact with the man, he surrendered peacefully and was detained without incident.
It remains unclear whether the man was armed or if he was formally arrested. Authorities have not released the suspect’s identity.
Neighbors told reporters that a family lives at the home involved, though law enforcement has not confirmed the relationship between the man and the residents.
The incident remains under investigation.
