SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Police Department is searching for a man suspected of shooting his brother in the Emerson Garfield neighborhood, Thursday.
Police responded to an apartment at W. Mansfield Avenue and Monroe Street just after 12 p.m. where they learned a man had been shot while sitting in his truck.
The victim told police the shooter was his brother: 37-year-old Andrew Dunnagan.
According to detectives, a woman was talking to the victim when Dunnagan drove up next to the victim’s truck and said, “Do you want to die, mother f*****?” before shooting him.
The woman said Dunnagan was driving a dark-colored Audi and fired one shot at the victim. She described Dunnagan as a white man with a “scruffy” face and curly hair wearing a ball cap, blue shorts, and a black shirt.
The victim was transported to the hospital and his condition is still unknown.
Police and SWAT teams were lead to a home on the corner of Washington and Montgomery in search of Dunnagan. SWAT surrounded and eventually entered the home looking for any of Dunnagan’s possessions.
The homeowner said police showed her a photo of Dunnagan and she said she had no idea who the person in the photo was.
No one was arrested after the SWAT standoff Thursday night. It is not clear how the home and Dunnagan are connected.
This is a developing story, and we’ll provide more details as they’re available.
