PULLMAN, Wash. – A house fire left a Pullman home unlivable while the homeowner was out of town, the Pullman Fire Department said.
According to officials, calls came in around 4 p.m. Friday for a fire on Northwest Darrow Street. When firefighters arrived on scene, they saw smoke pouring out of a broken window on the second floor.
Firefighters were able to attack the fire from all sides.
PFD said the fire damaged around 40% of the house, mostly on the second floor.
An inspector came out to the scene and said the home was not fit to be lived in.
Pullman Police called the homeowner who was out of town with the information. PFD said the homeowner lived alone and was set to return home Saturday.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
