SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane International Airport will close its primary runway for three days next week, routing all flights over South Hill neighborhoods.
The airport will close runway 3-21 Monday, June 9 through Wednesday, June 11 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. All flights will use the secondary east-to-west runway during these hours.
The closures allow crews to complete construction on Taxiway Alpha, an 11,000-foot pathway aircraft use to access the airport’s main facilities.
Airport officials say the closures will not affect flight schedules or passenger operations. South Hill residents should expect increased aircraft noise during closure hours as all traffic uses the single operational runway.
Evening and overnight flights will continue using the primary runway normally.
Passengers should arrive at normal times, as no delays are expected for check-in or security screening.
