POST FALLS, Idaho — As the school year comes to a close, the Idaho Department of Education wants to remind you where your children can access free summer meals.
The federal Summer Food Service Program serves meals in areas of greatest need.
Children between the ages of 1 and 18 can get a free, balanced and healthy meal at any of the over 250 sites across the state. There are no income requirements or restrictions for the free meals.
Last year, the Idaho Department of Education said over 900,000 meals and snacks were served to students across the state.
In Kootenai County, three Post Falls schools will offer free summer meals that students must eat on site.
These sites are Ponderosa Elementary School, Post Falls Middle School and Seltice Elementary School.
Free meals will be offered Monday through Friday from June 18 until August 15.
