SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – The Spokane Indians gave up the chance to be the sole-leaders of the Northwest League, letting Hillsboro take game two of the six game series, 8-5.
A four-run seventh inning including a Braylen Wimmer three-run homer wasn’t enough to overcome the Hops on Wednesday after winning the series opener. Now – the Hops have a one game lead over the Indians.
Lebarron Johnson Jr. took the mound for Spokane in his Avista Stadium debut. He had 6 strikeouts allowing 3 hits and 2 runs.
Jared Thomas had two hits and a stolen base—raising his league-best average to .320.
Indians and Hillsboro are back at it Thursday at 6:35 p.m. in Avista Stadium
