SPOKANE, Wash – Two sex offenders who were just sentenced to 70 years in federal prison now face rape charges in Spokane County Superior Court.
Earlier this week, a federal judge sentenced Tony Bolen and Casey Allen Greer for production of child pornography, conspiracy to produce child pornography and commission of a felony sex offense by a person required to register as a sex offender.
Both men have prior convictions for child molestation.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Judge Mary K. Dimke spoke to the victim in court, telling her “You are strong. You are brave… this does not define you. You have a very bright future ahead of you.”
But the legal process is not over.
Bolen and Greer will now face rape charges related to the same victim in Spokane County Superior Court.
Greer’s Spokane trial is set for mid-June; Bolen was in court Friday, but no trial date was set.
A judge set Bolen’s bail Friday at $5 million, but even if he were to somehow post bond, both men are under a U.S. Marshalls hold and couldn’t be released.
In court Friday, the prosecutor said even though Bolen has already been sentenced to a long prison term, he still poses an “extreme danger to the community.”
