GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — A wildfire that ignited Wednesday evening along Highway 26 near Royal City is now contained, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO).
The blaze, known as the Wanapum Fire, has burned roughly 60 acres.
According to GCSO, strong winds caused it to breach containment early Thursday, but crews have since regained control.
GCSO stated that no homes are currently threatened.
