MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After a stellar debut season in the NBA, former Washington State Cougar Jaylen Wells earned a spot on the All-Rookie First Team, the first former Coug to do so since Klay Thompson in 2011-12.
Wells averaged 10.4 points per game, fourth among all rookies, and he earned Western Conference Rookie of the Month for all games in October/November.
He broke his right wrist in a game against the Charlotte Hornets, ending his rookie year in early April but was still a finalist for Rookie of the Year, losing it to Stephon Castle.
