SPOKANE, Wash. — A woman was arrested Thursday morning for setting a fire in north Spokane Wednesday afternoon.
According to Spokane Police, calls came in just before 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday about a fire on East North Avenue. When officers arrived, they saw a shed, a tall pine tree and a nearby fence on fire.
Embers from the fire were landing in the yards of nearby homes and caused a smaller grass fire.
Police and fire investigators determined the fire was deliberately set.
Security camera footage near the scene caught a car driven by 34-year-old Jessie R. Green leaving the alley just before the fire broke out.
Green was arrested around 9:30 a.m. Thursday. She was booked into Spokane County Jail for arson.
