SPOKANE, Wash. — Luis Escalona made his first court appearance Wednesday from a medical facility on charges related to a Northeast Spokane gas station shooting.
Escalona faces charges of first-degree assault with a firearm, criminal conspiracy, and drive-by shooting.
His affidavit matches that of his brother, Kleybar Escalona, who appeared in court two days earlier.

The court set Luis’ bail at $100,000, with his next court date scheduled for May 6.
According to Spokane Police, the incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Circle K on N. Hamilton St. and E. North Foothills Dr.
Surveillance footage shows Luis Escalona speeding into the parking lot, exiting his vehicle, and firing a gun at a woman sitting in a yellow pickup truck. The victim fled the scene as Luis continued pointing the gun at her vehicle.
Police say Kleybar Escalona, who was parked nearby, then moved to the driver’s seat of his brother’s car while Luis got into the passenger seat. The brothers followed the victim’s truck out of the parking lot.
The victim later contacted police from a friend’s house. She told officers she had no prior knowledge of the men who targeted her.
A detective documented gunfire damage to her truck’s radiator and grill.
Kleybar Escalona appeared in court on Tuesday, April 22, where Commissioner Eugene Cruz also set his bail at $100,000.
Both brothers have arraignments scheduled for May 6.
