BONNER COUNTY, Idaho — If you see smoke north of Priest River Wednesday, don’t be alarmed.
The U.S. Forest Service is conducting a prescribed burn on 13 acres of land near Jasper Mountain today about 15 miles north of Priest River.
The Bonner County Sheriff’s Office says people may see smoke in surrounding areas, but you’re asked to not call 911.
Prescribed burns are conducted when weather is favorable to help reduce wildfire risk in the hotter months.
