ADAMS COUNTY, Wash. — An Othello Police officer was injured in a crash two miles north of Othello on Saturday night, according to Washington State Patrol.
Around 9:30 p.m. on April 19, an Othello Police Department car was parked in the middle of SR-17 near milepost 31 to direct traffic around a crash scene.
A car driving southbound on SR-17 failed to yield and crashed into the OPD patrol car.
The OPD officer was transported to a nearby hospital for his injuries. The driver of the southbound car, 20-year-old Divanely Alvarado-Hernandez, was charged with negligent driving.
WSP said drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
