ADAMS COUNTY, Wash. — Two people died in a crash near Othello on Wednesday afternoon, according to Washington State Patrol.
Around 3:30 p.m. on April 16, WSP responded to a crash on State Route 17 near milepost 34, just five miles north of Othello.
According to WSP, 28-year-old Cesar Hernandez was driving a car with three passengers, including 20-year-old Angel Valenzuela, southbound on SR-17.
Hernandez attempted to pass another car in a no-passing zone, overcorrected and struck a car driving northbound on SR-17.
Both Hernandez and Valenzuela were pronounced dead at the scene. Neither of them were wearing a seatbelt. The two other passengers in the car were transported to a nearby hospital for their injuries.
The driver of the northbound car, as well as both of its passengers, one of whom was 14-years-old, were also injured and taken to the hospital.
