SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Chiefs are entering the second round of WHL playoffs for the first time since the 2018-19 season. Starting Sunday, Spokane and the Victoria Royals will battle it out in a best-of-seven series beginning in the Spokane Arena.

During practice at Eagles Ice Arena on Friday, the team put finishing touches on their game plan for the Royals. Chiefs left-wing Andrew Cristall says it’s business as usual, but they want to continue the aggression on offense from the first round into this upcoming series.
“I think we were playing a little more direct [against the Vancouver Giants]… getting to the net and jamming home some loose change,” Cristall said.
Another thing that the players say sets this team apart is their chemistry on and off the ice.
“The more you can grow on the ice it’s just going to help us off the ice. Cristall said. If were good buddies off the ice we’re just going to want to play for each other.”
The series begins April 13 inside the Spokane Arena. The first two games will be held in Spokane, then the next two (three if needed) in Victoria.
