SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Get ready for some exciting upgrades at Greenacres Park in Spokane Valley.
According to Spokane Valley Parks and Recreation, construction for Phase II started on Monday and is expected to be completed by mid-to-late summer.

During this time, the park will be closed to ensure safety and help expedite the process.
What’s Coming?
As part of the city’s Parks Master Plan and in response to community feedback, the Phase II improvements will bring a variety of new features, including:
Six pickleball courts, one tennis court, and two basketball courts for all kinds of sports fun.A community garden to grow together and enjoy nature.A backstop for those looking to practice their baseball or softball skills.An expanded playground and splashpad to give kids more space to play and cool off.An updated disc golf course and a new practice ring for disc golf enthusiasts.Added shade structures and shade trees to help beat the heat.Expanded parking and pathways to make getting around easier.A paved perimeter trail for walking, jogging, or cycling.
Funding the Project
The total cost of Phase II is $2 million, with 75% of the funding coming from state and federal grants.
The City of Spokane Valley secured two significant grants through the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO): $500,000 from the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) – Local Parks and $1 million from the Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF).
