SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Public Library Foundation is participating in Library Giving Day, a nationwide event that supports public libraries.
The foundation aims to raise $10,000 to fund youth initiatives such as Summer Reading and 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, as well as digital resources, improvements to archival and business services, and more.
“Library Giving Day offers a great opportunity to reflect on the value Spokane Public Library brings to the city,” said Jens Larson, board president of the Spokane Public Library Foundation. “The library’s role goes far beyond books, supporting economic development, lifelong learning, and community connection. Donor support is an investment that helps the library grow and have an even greater impact on our community.”
Libraries are vital to communities, offering programs that promote lifelong learning, connect patrons to technology, introduce children to early literacy and STEM education, and support the pursuit of knowledge.
The one-day online fundraising campaign will take place Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
