CURLEW, Wash –A Ferry County Sheriff’s Deputy is expected to survive after being shot in the leg while responding to a domestic violence call.
According to the Ferry County Sheriff’s Office, the call came in around 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19.
Deputies responded to a home on Boulder Creek Rd in Curlew.
Deputies knocked and announced themselves, but someone on the other side of the door fired a gun several times, hitting a deputy in the leg.
That deputy was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
Deputies pulled back and called for additional assistance from the USCBP, the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office SRT team, and the Spokane County Sheriff’s SWAT team.
The Ferry County Sheriff’s Office released an update early Thursday morning saying the situation was resolved.
There is no word on whether someone was taken into custody or if there were any other injuries.
