SPOKANE, Wash. — It’s the end of an era for the Spokane restaurant that helped hundreds of dogs and cats find their forever homes.
‘Bark, a Rescue Pub’ is a fully-functional restaurant and bar near Washington Street and North River Drive.
Since it opened in 2020, it has partnered with Spokane Humane Society to help over 1,300 animals get adopted.
It also helped raise $90,000 for the Humane Society.
“It has been a really fruitful relationship,” said Spokane Human Society Executive Director, Kim Reasoner Morin.
The Humane Society said Bark made it possible for more animals to be seen, since dining customers could interact with cats and dogs up for adoption.
“Bark has been a fantastic way for the Spokane Humane Society to reach deeper into our community, to provide a different outlet for our animals to be seen and adopted,” Reasoner Morin said.
After a successful run, Bark is closing its doors on April 12.
Spokane Humane Society said it’s now looking for other ways to reach the community.
“We will be looking at different ways to partner with different businesses to do pop-up adoption events at their businesses,” Reasoner Morin said.
Until April 12, you can still stop by Bark for a bite to eat and to meet some of the cute cats and dogs looking for their forever family.
