SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Velocity FC made history with the signing of 17-year-old Rocky Wells to a USL Academy Contract with the club.
Wells is a junior at Mead High Schools and the first local youth player signing for USL Spokane. He was the GSL 2024 Offensive Player of the Year.
Signing under an Academy contract allows Wells to play in this professional league while maintaining all NCAA eligibility. This is still pending league and federation approval.
The Velocity’s home-opener is Sunday, March 16 at 4 p.m. against One Knoxville.
