AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — A Yakima man pleaded guilty on Wednesday to stealing cultural items from the Northern Quest Resort and Casino in 2020.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Washington, 61-year-old Kevin William Wissman stole five moccasins and a beaded glove on display at the casino on October 30, 2020.
The items, owned by the Kalispel Tribe, were on display in the Heritage Hall inside a shadow box and behind a glass display.
“To the Kalispel Tribe, these are not just decorative items in a display case, but rather priceless and irreplaceable pieces of the Kalispel’s history,” said W. Mike Herrington, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Seattle field office.
The stolen items have still not been recovered.
If you have any information about the stolen items, contact Kalispel Tribal Police at 509-481-4444.
