SPOKANE, Wash – Fire damaged The Viking Bar and Grill Tuesday morning in north Spokane.
Firefighters were called to the restaurant on North Stevens around 5:20 am. A security guard passing by noticed the flames and called firefighters.
The fire started around the entryway to the restaurant and video shows damage to the siding in that area.
Firefighters say the fire was caused by a cigarette that had been thrown into a planter on the patio.
Firefighters say the interior is not damaged by fire, but it’s not clear how serious the smoke damage might be.
No one was in the restaurant at the time.
Firefighters told 4 News Now it’s unlikely the restaurant could open for business today.
