PULLMAN, Wash. — A new health center is helping people recovering from substance use and behavior health challenges in Pullman.
The Whitman Recovery Community Center opened February 17 and provides recovery coaching, peer support, social groups and educational resources to individuals needing a safe space to get healthy and sober.
The initiative is part of the Latah Recovery Center, a nonprofit that has operated in Moscow, Idaho for 10 years.
It is funded by a startup grant from the Washington State Healthcare Authority Clubhouse & Peer Run Program.
“Our Moscow effort has served as a catalyst for bringing a wide range of recovery resources to the community. We hope the new Pullman center will do the same, creating a healthier, more connected community,” said Darrell Keim, Executive Director of Latah Recovery Center.
The center also provides referrals to housing assistance, healthcare and employment resources.
WRCC is currently housed in Real Life Church at 1234 S. Grand Avenue. It is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome.
