SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Allie Turner’s 23 points and Bree Salenbien’s 17 off the bench was enough to carry Gonzaga women’s basketball past the Santa Clara broncos in Saturday’s regular season showdown.
The Zags lock the number one seed in the WCC tournament, earning byes until the semi-final round. This is Gonzaga’s ninth WCC regular season title in the last 10 seasons, missing the title in the 2022 season. It is also their 20th title in program history.
It was a quiet night for Yvonne Ejim with just eight points and six rebounds. This was her first game scoring under ten points all season.
Turner had a 90% field goal percentage, missing just one three pointer and making her other five three-point attempts.
The first round of the WCC tournament begins March 7 and the semi-final round is on March 10.
