SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — A replacement levy for Freeman School District appeared to be passing on Tuesday evening.
As of Tuesday night, 50.3% of voters voted ‘yes’ on the levy, while 49.8% voted ‘no.’
The levy, if passed, would collect roughly $1.6 million in 2026 and $1.7 million in 2027 to cover the cost of safety and infrastructure improvements for the district.
Specific improvements would include projects like upgrading security cameras, entry controls and technology equipment and improving ADA accessibility and parking and traffic circulation.
To pass, the levy needs 50% with an additional favorable vote.
Votes will continue to be cast and counted over the next few days.
This is a developing story.
