SPOKANE, Wash. — A large group is gathered outside Spokane City Hall on Monday evening, rallying in support of Spokane’s refugee and immigrant communities.
The group is urging city council to pass a resolution in support of enforcing the 2019 Keep Washington Working Act.
The act limits local law enforcement’s involvement in federal immigration cases.
The proposed resolution also calls for the city to explore ways to fund legal services for immigrants and refugees living in the city.
City Council is expected to vote on the resolution during Monday night’s meeting.
