UPDATE: DOUGLAS COUNTY, Wash. — Four people, including two teens, were killed in a three-vehicle crash involving a charter bus.
According to WSP, a 17-year-old boy and girl were driving west on State Route 28 around 1:30 p.m. Sunday. WSP says the girl was driving and tried passing another vehicle going west.
When the car crossed into eastbound lanes, they struck a charter bus then hit the vehicle they tried passing.
Both teens died at the scene. The driver of the bus and one passenger were also killed. Seven bus passengers were injured.
WSP says it’s unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors.
ORIGINAL: DOUGLAS COUNTY, Wash. — At least one person died in a charter bus crash on SR-28 near Rock Island, Washington on Sunday afternoon.
Around 2:45 p.m. on February 9, WSP responded to a bus crash on SR-28 near mile post 11, about a 20-minute drive southeast of Wenatchee.
WSP said at least one person died and multiple others were injured.
The crash caused traffic jams between Quincy and East Wenatchee.
As of 3:45 p.m., WSP said drivers should avoid the area if possible.
No information about what caused the crash has been released.
