SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — If you enjoy hiking the Glenrose Trailhead, you will have to find alternative places to have fun outdoors this month.
Spokane County Parks, Recreation and Golf announced the trailhead will be closed for the month of February while crews work to reduce wildfire risk.
Crews will selectively thin the brush and trees in the area near the trail while keeping enough trees and foliage to maintain the habitat and aesthetic of the area.
The work will begin this month and could extend into April pending weather conditions.
The Glenrose Trailhead will be closed for the entire month of February. Signs will be posted notifying hikers of the closures at each trailhead.
Spokane County Park officials say if you are looking to go on a hike this month, consider checking out Stevens Creek a little farther south.
