LATAH COUNTY, Idaho. — Evacuations for certain areas near the Gwen Fire burning in Latah County were updated on Sunday afternoon.
Around 1 p.m. on July 28, Latah County Sheriff’s Office updated evacuations for people near the 27,000-plus acre fire burning near Juliaetta.
Level 2 (Get Set) evacuations were downgraded to Level 1 (Get Ready) for people near the following areas:
South of State Highway 3 and Bethany Road
South of State Highway 99 and Bethel Road
South of Genesee-Juliaetta Road
Level 2 evacuations remain in place for the City of Kendrick, along State Highway 3 from McGary Road to Cedar Ridge Road.
Level 3 evacuations are still in place for the City of Juliaetta from State Highway 3 from the county line (around milepost 7) to McGary Grade Road.
