Skater believed to have fallen through ice at Medical Lake, got out without issue

MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. — UPDATE, 12:53 p.m. January 23, 2025

First responders found the break in the ice where they believe a skater fell in and got themselves out without issue.

The search and water rescue has officially ended.

First responders are currently looking for someone who may have fallen through the ice at Medical Lake.

According to Spokane County Fire District 3, calls came in Thursday saying someone in a brown jacket fell through the ice.

Fire officials are currently working to find the spot on the lake where the ice may have broken.

Multiple resources are searching at the lake and around the shores.
