PULLMAN, Wash. — The body of a man found inside a structure fire near the College Hill Historic District on December 31, 2024, has been identified.
According to Whitman County Coroner’s Office, 60-year-old Steven Paul Sargent died of asphyxia due to inhalation of smoke.
The death investigation was handed over to Pullman Police and Whitman County Coroner Annie Pillers, who said the victim was not affiliated with Washington State University.
