SPOKANE, Wash. – Clutch, clutch, clutch.
That defined Yvonne Ejim and her 35 points and 13 rebounds, leading the Gonzaga Bulldogs (11-8) over the Portland Pilots (16-3) 66-65 after a back-and-forth final few minutes.
The Zags outscored the Pilots 20-9 in a vibrant third quarter, holding Portland to a dismal 3-13 shooting from the field, and 0-5 from three.
The fourth quarter was overall very anti-Zag, as it was 27-17 Portland, but Ejim’s five rebounds and 11 points in the final frame got Gonzaga the win.
The Bulldogs have back-to-back road games next, playing at Loyola Marymount this Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
