SOAP LAKE, Wash. — A driver was hit and killed by another car that ran a stop sign near Ephrata Thursday night.
Washington State Patrol says 59-year-old George Martin of Moses Lake was driving on Road 19 NW approaching State Route 28 around 7:30 p.m.
WSP says Martin ran a stop sign and hit 39-year-old Jessica Oelke of Soap Lake on the driver’s side.
Martin’s vehicle overturned and landed on its roof and Oelke’s vehicle went off the road into a ditch.
WSP says Oelke died at the scene and Martin was airlifted to a Spokane hospital.
Charges against Martin are pending, according to WSP.
