AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — A 16-year-old who was hospitalized from a crash west of Airway Heights Wednesday has died.
Washington State Patrol says a Hyundai Sonata was driving south on Wood Road and ran a stop sign at Highway 2. The Hyundai drove under the trailer of a semi-truck and became pinned.
The occupants in the Hyundai, an 18-year-old female driver from Fruitland, a 16-year-old from Wellpinit, and a 13-year-old from Wellpinit, were all hospitalized.
WSP says the 16-year-old later died and the 18-year-old remains in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. The 13-year-old has since been released.
